In Luke 1:26-31, we see the story of Mary, who was visited by the angel Gabriel with news that she would bear a child named Jesus. The angel told her, "Don't be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace with God." This passage reveals important truths about being chosen by God for a special purpose.
The angel let Mary know that she had been chosen and found favor with God. Similarly, while being a mother isn't always easy, God found favor with you in being a mother. He knew you would be the right person for the job.
God makes no mistakes in what He does, and everything He does is purposeful. When He gave you the responsibility of motherhood, He knew you were the right person to accomplish what needed to be done for your child's life.
Nobody told you as a mother what all this would entail. Nobody warned about the heartache and pain, the stress and anxiety. Nobody explained how heavy the assignment would be.
But it wasn't given to you by accident. The very first time you felt your child kick or jump in the womb, God found favor and knew you were ready.
A mother's love brings security without her having to fight anyone. It brings stability no matter what's happening around you. There's something special about a mother's presence that can't be replicated.
A mother will give her last. She'll give even when she doesn't have enough for herself. She'll go beyond what seems possible for her child. Your motherhood has found favor in God's sight, and your efforts don't go unnoticed.
